Has anyone got any good home made beauty recipes?

i fine that a lot face packs, cleansers etc from the shop is so expensive and i was wondering if anyone had any good home made recipes that work

thanksHas anyone got any good home made beauty recipes?
I use honey as a face pack once a week - it's great if your skin looks tired.

others things I use or have used:

Oatmeal and honey as a face scrub

Egg yolk and sugar, as a face and body scrub (a bit ikky tho)

Egg yolk as a conditioning mask for hair (dont use really hot water to rinse or it will cook!!)

Egg white with a drop of glycerine, (whisk as for mirangues) as a face mask for oily skin

Cold water and a wee drop of lavendar oil and/or tea tree oil instead of toner for spotty skins. Avoid eye area.

Avocado mashed as a face mask for dry skin- you can add a drop of lemon juice, lavendar oil and or tea tree oil for spotty skin

Beer as a conditioner for dark hair (blondes can use lemon juice)

Cold tea (without the milk!!) to take the burn out of sun burn - dab on with damp cotton wool or if you are brave, get into a lukewarm bath of it if you don't mind scrubbing the bath afterwards

Vaseline to clean off eyemake is much cheaper and kinder than eyemakeup remover. Don't use too much. Smear it on and remove with tissue instead of cotton wool. It's ok if a little gets left behind on the skin as it doubles as eye cream. Too much can cause puffy eyes tho.

A drop of tea tree oil in a glass of water as mouth wash...if you can stand the taste. I like it.

By the way, you can buy a big tub of acqueous cream in the chemist reeeeally cheaply and use instead of body lotion or hand/foot cream. If you have very dry skin, you can use it on your face at night but its a bit greasy to be wearing during the day, especially under makeup.

You can buy coconut oil reeeeally cheaply in ethnic foodstores - especially oriental ones - and use it for body lotion, hand cream, hot oil treatment for hair, nail treatment...

Olive oil instead of expensive hot-oil treaments for dry hair. One tip tho - when rinsing it out don't go straight under the shower. Apply the shampoo straight onto the hair and massage to lift the oil then use water to complete the job

Avocados, peppermint scrub. Smash avocados and apply to skin all over face. To make peppermint scrub, mash peppermints in a tub and add 2 cups water and some bath and body works exfoliating shower wash.
Yeah, face packs and stuff can be very expensive and natural face packs are often better for your skin anyway because there's less chemicals and you know exactly what ingredients are going into them.

I recommend the asperin for its healing and exfoliating properties, but you could choose any of the above according to which products you have in your house.

Before you apply the face mask, gently steam your face to open up your pores. (Place your face over a sink or bowl of hot/boiling water and cover with a towell to stop steam escaping). Pat your face dry gently, and then straight away apply the face mask.

Once you've left it on for the recommended time, wash it off with warm water and gentle circular movements of your fingertips. When all the mask is off, splash your face with cold water to close up your pores again.

If you don't want to have to make the mask every time you want to use it, you can make more of it than you need and keep the rest in a sealable airtight container (eg. tupperware), and if you keep it in the fridge then the ingredients will stay fresh for longer. They're at their best 4 or 4 days after you make them if they're refrigerated, and 2 or 3 days if you don't refrigerate them.

Hope I helped! xx
honey as a face mask :]

egg as a face skin tightener. :]

Mix oatmeal, olive oil, and milk for a face mask.

Lemon juice is also good for the skin.

Mix yogurt and mashed strawberries for a face mask.

Mix brown sugar and olive oil and rub it on your lips to make them really soft.

Mix an egg with yogurt and apply to damp hair and leave in for 10 minutes then rinse out, it should make your hair very soft.
